A Cool Green Glass (MY pet Moby dick part 6)
I slipped across the patio threshold... inching along the warm red tiles on my belly. Beneath the broad shadow of a terracotta pot, a faint, glassy glint caught my eye. I paused. Breathed. Then nudged gently forward until my snout met something very smooth and rounded. It was a frosted sea-glass pebble, cool and sea-green. When I leaned my chin against its curved edge, a quiet ocean draft slipped across the patio tiles, whispering over its slick surface. I stayed right there, resting with my tiny sea treasure.
