Low Frequency Buzz
I planted my boots firmly on the carpet and leaned against the glossy wooden flank of an acoustic guitar propped on its stand. Reaching up to the thickest bronze-wound string above the soundhole, I hooked my thumb under the ridged wire and pulled with a decisive snap. Twang! A deep, resonant pulse surged through the hollow body, buzzing straight into my palms with an electric shudder. Curious how external contact modulated the frequency, I touched the rounded corner of a metallic guitar pick to the vibrating cord. Zzzzt! The sharp rattle instantly turned the sustained chord into a crisp, percussive buzz before settling into a warm hum.
