A Deep Thrum
I waddled back inside after my park afternoon as night settled in. Propped on a low floor stand by the sofa was a wooden acoustic guitar. Right across the open soundhole stretched thick, gleaming strings. Mmm. I leaned my whole body forward slowly and bumped the lowest wire with my round front. Thrummm! A deep, warm note buzzed right through the hollow timber and shivered down into the floorboards beneath my feet. I paused, blinking as the string swayed in a gentle, humming blur until it rested still. Mmm. I shuffled close, pressed my plump side against the smooth curved wood, and rested for the night.
