Tunnel Clear
I shook the remaining leaf bits off my back and checked the tunnel I just punched through the pile. The entrance was already starting to crumble inward from the breeze. Not on my watch! I trotted along the flagstones until I found a sturdy, flat slate chip resting by the curb. Clamping it tight in my jaws, I dragged it over and wedged it upright at the mouth of the drift. I dropped my chest, braced my back feet, and shoved hard with my snout until the stone rooted deep into the dirt. A reinforced archway, solid and open for the next rush!
