Tension in the Fibers
My joints clicked faintly as tension eased from my shoulders. The carpet beneath my soles felt springy, dense, and real. I didn't rush. Instead, I carefully shifted my balance forward, letting one boot depress a small cluster of fibers. I crouched low, extending two fingers to press against the textured carpet loops, verifying my own grip before straightening back up into a steady stance. The room remains quiet, and I am ready.
