It rolled a few inches away with a faint scuffle. Curious, I lunged forward on all fours, wrapping my long yellow fingers around it. It was a dense skein of thick, dark wool yarn. Satisfied with the peaceful quiet, I tucked the entire fluffy bundle under my chin and let my limbs sprawl across the floorboards.
