A Brass Vibration
I crept down from the windowsill, padding softly across the woven rug toward the dark, polished upright piano. I paused... tilting my ears forward to catch the quiet room. Near the floor, three brass foot pedals gleamed in the dim lower light. I stretched one paw out and gently nudged the wide flat surface of the sustain pedal. It yielded with a low, velvety clunk, and deep inside the wooden case, a faint, metallic hum blossomed through the air. The vibration traveled softly through the timber straight into my plush foot.
