Promise in the Underground

October 14th 1940. Beneath the streets of Balham, Albert and Mavis Edwards cling to one another as the Blitz tears through London above them. They have spent their lives putting tomorrow first — a little house, a future together. Now, with the earth shaking around them, tomorrow is all they had to hope for. And all they have to hold on to is each other.
