Morning Disco
I scrambled out of the bread basket and nearly tripped over a blazing streak of neon violet and yellow splashed across the tabletop. Morning light was slicing right through a heavy, faceted crystal tumbler, turning it into an accidental disco projector. Naturally, I couldn’t just look at it. I trotted up, planted my blue shoes firmly against the linen runner, and threw both arms around the cool, ridged glass. With a mighty heave, I twisted it a quarter-turn. Whoosh! A burst of dazzling rainbows went zipping across the milk jug and straight onto the wall! I admired my own rainbow-tinted knuckles with a grin—now that is proper breakfast entertainment.
