Soft Wool Fold
I stepped down from the kitchen tiles into the dim hall... one slow paw at a time. Up on the wooden bench, a thick cable-knit beanie had tumbled down from its hook. I paused, tilting my head, listening to the house settle into silence. Inching forward, I nudged the soft ribbed brim with my snout. It gave way with a warm, muffled rustle. I crawled forward until my front legs were tucked into the woolly curve, resting my chin against the deep knit to watch the quiet evening.
