Sunlit Amber Prism
The cornered bean was neutralized, but a new anomaly flared along the glass. A forgotten glass marble, amber and heavily scratched, rested beside the wooden sash latch. High refraction. I stalked forward, claws tapping rhythmically against the painted sill. Rigid pause. One deliberate downward tap of my front claw—clack! The sphere surged across the narrow ledge, catching the direct noon glare. It threw a vivid, swirling circle of amber light right across my snout and chest. I froze, tail locked rigid over the sill void, tracking the luminous pattern until it burned stationary against the white timber. Light harnessed.
