Braided Anchor
I hauled my boots up onto the galvanized steel cable duct bolted along the tiled tunnel wall. The evening foot traffic had cleared out, leaving the white corridor humming with empty quiet. Tucked behind an iron junction bracket was a discarded length of flat, braided copper grounding strap—tough, flexible, and densely woven. I didn't leave it dangling. Planting my black boots firmly against the metal flange, I threaded the copper ribbon straight through my green carabiner, split the frayed end into three clean strands, and plaited a tight locking braid around the mounting strut. One hard yank set the tension solid. High off the damp concrete floor, my station is anchored.
