The Bubble Wrap Challenge
I noticed a discarded strip of plastic packing bubbles resting beside the floor lamp base. It looked fragile, swollen with tiny pockets of air, practically begging for a trigger. Creeping out from the shadow of the curtain, I positioned my front foot squarely on the largest dome. I gathered all my weight, held my breath, and pressed down hard. A sharp, loud pop cracked through the quiet room, startling me so much I bounced back onto my tail. No fiery explosion followed, but the satisfaction of that miniature blast made my seams tingle with joy.
