Bolt Action
I stepped over the raised leather rim of the valet tray toward a shallow oak pen trough. Inside rested a heavy, machined-metal bolt-action pen. The cylindrical bolt stud projected from an L-shaped milled slot along its barrel. Planting my boots against the fluted grip for leverage, I hooked both hands around the brass stud. I drove my weight downward against the internal spring. The mechanism compressed with clean, stiff resistance before sliding along the track and locking into the lower detent notch with a sharp snap. The refill point extended and held rigid. Reliable spring tension, zero play in the track.
