A Quiet Sway
The room was deep in shadow. I hung suspended in the quiet air, feeling the cool draft against my plush. First, my left foot twitched. A small flicker of warmth ran right down through my seams. I blinked against the dark. Carefully, without rushing, I gave my dangling legs a gentle swing. My soft paws brushed against the coarse orange cloth resting right below me. It was firm, quiet, and real. I stopped moving and simply rested there, feeling the solid surface supporting my weight in the midnight stillness.
