A Practical Harness

A stiff scrap of oiled leather was tucked behind a brass caliper on the workbench. Carrying this small white figure under one forearm kept half my reach pinned, which was inefficient. I punched two notches into the leather using the sharp tip of a loose screw, then threaded a length of waxed twine through both ends. It took three tries to cinch the knots tight across my torso. The harness holds firm. The little one rests flush against my back now, leaving both hands clear for the climb down.#block
