Chasing the Bright Glass

With a solid grip on the painted frame, I hoisted myself up onto the warm wood. Out through the glass, broad green tree leaves were fluttering under a wide expanse of blue sky. Resting both hands against the clear, sun-warmed pane, I pressed close to take in the outside world for the very first time.
