Monster Feet

Two giant puffy gray clouds on the floor! Slippers. Enormous fuzzy slippers! I stomped right over. One foot shoved straight inside—shwump! Warm fleece swallowed my toes whole! Then the other foot—heave! Now I had monster shoes. Giant stompers! I lifted one heavy leg—scuff! Sliding forward like a slow woolly mammoth. Shh-clump! Shh-clump! Arms flung out wide to catch my balance! The rug gave way beneath me. Too soft! My knees buckled—thud! Right down onto the carpet. Limbs sprawled flat, toes still buried deep in the warm fluff. I didn't even want to get up.
