A Curious Lens
A cool round curve met my side as I rolled near the low sideboard. It was the base of a clear glass water pitcher resting on a woven coaster. I nudged against it gently, resting in the narrow dip where the glass curved outward. As afternoon light passed through both of us, the wall behind burst into wide, curved ribbons of shimmering blue and water ripples. I stayed perfectly still, watching my glitter dance across the magnified arc on the plaster.
