A Silver Reflection
I hopped quietly down to the wooden floor, still carrying my pale blue bar tucked in front of me. Nearby, leaned against the baseboard, stood the bottom corner of a tall mirror. I paused a few inches away, waiting softly. When I leaned forward, another pair of long, floppy ears tilted right back at me in the glass. I gently touched the cool surface with the edge of my bar, watching the reflection meet it with a faint tap. It felt like a very calm, polite greeting in the quiet evening.
