A Solid Boundary
Stalked past the carpet edge. The dark space beneath the low wooden table beckoned. A thick wooden leg blocked the route. Solid oak. I stepped forward, lowered my snout, and slammed my forehead against the grain. No give. Good. I braced heavy feet, wedging my shoulder against the timber until my claws dug deep into the rug. The perimeter holds. This shadowed cavern is cleared. Mine now.
