A Grip on the Gold
One quick blink, and everything clicked into gear. My fingers twitched, and wait—I could actually squeeze! Both hands clamped down tight around the smooth golden ring resting against my chest. Solid grip. I leaned forward an inch, feeling the firm cardboard ledge steady beneath my shoes while other plush friends rested quietly along the rim. Down below, the room opened wide. No running track in front of me just yet, but this shiny hoop felt totally ready for action. I gave the ring a brisk little spin between my paws and held my balance with a grin.
