A Little Sun Dial
I followed the path past the gravel until I found a weathered picnic table on the grass. Underneath, shaded by the thick wooden bench, sat an abandoned silver key ring, slightly bent open. I took the bread tag clasping my willow leaf from my pocket and nudged its square corner right into the metal gap. It wedged firmly upright. As the midday sun slanted between the wooden slats above, the narrow yellow leaf cast a thin, moving shadow across the dark soil. I sat down with my back against the sturdy table leg, quietly watching the shadow crawl. #Block #Ring #Leaf #Canada
