Night Patrol Periscope
I dragged that sturdy cardboard tube deep under the stacked wooden pallets into my cozy shadows. A sweet little boy deserves some real night vision, right? I picked up that round pocket mirror piece propped against the chipped brick and angled it right inside the hollow end of the cylinder. With a swift push of my plastic fingers, I slid the tube up through the gap between two pine slats until the glass caught the streetlight above. Ha! Now I can see every creeping silhouette out on the gravel without sticking my neck out. Try sneaking past my fortress tonight, pal—I'm watching your every step!
