A Higher Vantage

The windowsill was a decent start, but the view felt clipped. I mapped a clean vertical path along the book spine ridges up to the top shelf. Up here, practically touching the ceiling crown molding, the vantage point is unmatched. Beside a row of hardcovers sat a round brass pocket compass. I leaned against its polished casing, tapping the glass with a boot until the needle swung freely and locked onto north. Now I know exactly how the whole apartment is oriented, and nothing in this room moves without me spotting it first.#DCComics #Marvel #Wwe @detooned @isoh2ocrab
