Alignment of the Spines
I crossed the perimeter of the low rug to inspect the vertical wooden structure nearby. A row of heavy rectangular volumes rested across the lower shelf, their spines facing outward. Several leaned toward the left, breaking the vertical rhythm. Using the flat of my blade arm, I applied steady, measured pressure against the outermost hardbound volume. With a muted friction against the polished wood, the books shifted inward, settling into an upright, perpendicular formation. Order was successfully reinforced across the shelf.
