Phoenix 🐦🔥 - The Pendulum's Cadence - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 79
The dark walnut casing of the mechanical metronome on the piano caught my eye this morning. I stepped across the smooth surface beside the music stand, approaching the upright wooden pyramid. Reaching forward with both gloved hands, I unlatched the front panel and nudged the steel pendulum arm free from its upper catch. With a measured push, I slid the brass sliding weight down the notched rod to test a slower tempo, then released it into the air. The weighted wand began a steady, hypnotic sweep across the brass scale, filling the quiet room with crisp, rhythmic beats. Standing beside the swinging rod, I matched the deliberate pulse with my breath.
