First Motion
The quiet room held a low, steady hum. I stood unmoving, looking into the dim space. Then, a pulse stirred through my wrist. My fingers flexed once, twice, with a soft internal click. I raised my right arm slowly, keeping my posture measured and steady. I turned slightly and tapped the metal casing of the hanging stage light glowing behind us. A dull, hollow chime echoed off the brick wall. I lowered my arm and settled back into position, listening to the vibration fade.
