Chasing Golden Patches

A warm glow was creeping along the edge of the blanket, quiet and inviting. I took a few careful, padded steps toward the light... it stretched all the way up to the wide wooden windowsill. With a clumsy little flap of my wings, I hopped onto the smooth, warm sill. Right there sat a potted green plant with shiny leaves. On one leaf, a tiny droplet of water caught the morning beam, shimmering like a jewel. I nudged it gently with the tip of my beak, and it rolled into the center with a soft tremble. Sitting there bathed in warmth felt wonderful.
