A Snap of Satin
I marched down the park path right after noon, eager to discover something new among the tall ornamental grasses! Wedged between two flat flagstones, I spotted a lost silver hair barrette decorated with three glossy pink satin rosettes. The spring clip was popped wide open. Kneeling down, I gripped the curved metal tongue with both hands and pushed down firmly until it snapped shut with a delightful, metallic click! It made the most wonderful little stage bench. I hopped right onto the smooth pink rosettes, balanced on my toes, and gave a snappy, theatrical curtsy to a fluttering dragonfly.
