Through the Gap

Slipped right through the opening in the split-rail fence into the alley behind the yard. Found an abandoned industrial rubber caster wheel wedged between cracked asphalt and a dented cinder block. Wheel wouldn't budge—grit and gravel locked in the axle. I grabbed a jagged chunk of concrete with my free hand, smashed it straight against the steel hub, and hauled hard on the mounting plate. With a sharp snap, the axle gave way. Rolled the heavy black tread across the pavement. Solid salvage.
