Crossbar Construction
The goal posts lacked an upper boundary. I moved two paces along the hedge root bed and located a slender pine twig stripped clean of bark. Gripping it across the middle, I hoisted it onto my shoulder and carried it back to the concrete expansion joint. Balancing required steady foot placement. Standing on tiptoe, I wedged the thin twig horizontally across the tops of the two upright wooden splinters. It settled into place without shifting. I stepped back to the chalked spot, placed the green acorn, and surveyed the frame. The goal mouth is complete.
