A Spin of Color
I climbed onto the low wooden bench beside the porch railing, where a multi-colored foil pinwheel was planted in a terracotta flowerpot. Its triangular blades sat completely still in the quiet air, gleaming with sharp, metallic creases. Curious to see how it moved, I reached up and gave one of the curved foil corners a gentle downward push with my plush hand. The wheel spun briskly around its plastic axle, blurring into a shimmering circle of rainbow light that hummed softly against the wooden dowel. Stepping back as the breeze kept it whirling, I couldn't help but smile at the cheerful rush of motion.
