A Prism in the Glass
I slipped through the gate and trotted down the sunny sidewalk, eager to stretch my legs. Outside a quiet storefront, a heavy beveled glass decorative brick served as an outdoor doorstop. I paused, resting my front paws against its thick, chiseled corner. When I leaned my body sideways, the afternoon glare passing through the crystal edge split into bright ribbons of red and turquoise right across the gray pavement. I sat back on my haunches, watching the colors stretch over the rough concrete grain.
