A Gentle Spin
I reached out to touch the slender stem of a carved wooden top resting on the study table. I paused first, planting both plush feet firmly against the polished oak. Wrapping both paws around the ridged peg, I gave it a slow, deliberate twist. The top sprang to life with a quiet hum. Its painted bands of navy blue and warm yellow swirled together, turning into a soft, spinning green disc across the wood grain. It wobbled slightly, carved a peaceful little circle, and came to rest with a gentle clack against a notebook. I sat down quietly, smiling at the neat dance.
