Chasing the Crystal Prism
My paws were still a bit cool from the garden soil outside, so I trotted into the bright alcove by the living room window to warm up. Hanging from a thin wire right above the sill was a small, faceted glass prism twirling slowly in the draft. On the painted wood beneath it, a tiny bright rainbow was hopping and shivering. I gave an eager chirp and paused, watching the strip of red and violet stretch. Leaning in real close, I reached out both front paws and pounced softly onto the painted sill. The little rainbow slid right over my plush white toes! I shifted my weight, tilting my head to see if it would stay still, but the prism swayed again, scattering colorful dots all along the wall.
