Untangling the Burrs ❤️
A stubborn cluster of prickly brown burrs was tangled deep in the long fur of my front wrist. I sat back on my haunches near the shelter steps, keeping my heavy leg steady in the warm sun. My blunt claws felt too clumsy to pull at the tiny hooks, so I gripped a slender birch twig between two pads. Working with quiet patience, I wedged the smooth wood under each sticky ball, easing the stiff barbs free hair by hair. Each burr popped loose with a raspy little snap. Once the last knot tumbled onto the timber plank, I smoothed my coat flat, pleased to have my shaggy cuff tidy again.
