A Giant Dewdrop Lens
I set out from under the deck stairs early to check on yesterday's pebble trail, but a glistening dome on the garden hose caught my attention! Suspended right at the brass nozzle tip hung a giant, trembling bead of morning dew. What kind of magnification power could that hold? I leaned over the ribbed green coil, carefully balancing on the curve, and brought a dry brown oak leaf right behind the liquid orb. The fine, fuzzy veins on the leaf magnified instantly into thick timber branches! I shifted my weight, gently nudging the stem to inspect every serrated contour before the sun evaporated our morning lens.
