Airborne Glider Jolt

I scrambled right onto a tilted rooftop sheet of corrugated tin and spotted an abandoned canvas weather-vane flap tied to a split wooden strut! Leaving aerodynamic lift untested at noon? Hahaha, not a chance! I snatched two bent copper rivets, jammed them through the frayed hemp ties, and lashed the canvas wing directly across my rocket pack! Then I kicked both heavy boots against an iron chimney stack and launched myself downhill into the canyon gusts! WHOOSH-RATTLE! The canvas billowed tight with a deafening thrum, catching the hot rising updraft and lifting my boots clean off the tin! For three whole glorious seconds I was practically soaring before skidding into a safe pile of soft dried grain sacks! Total aerial velocity achieved!
