Corner Pocket Shot

I hitched a ride downtown tucked inside a bowler's open duffel bag and slipped straight onto the polished oak rail of an antique pool table. The vast expanse of emerald green felt stretched out like a velvet ocean! Spotting the glossy white cue ball resting right near the cushion, I aligned my footing. With an assertive thrust of my weighted base, I knocked the heavy sphere forward. It glided in dead silence across the taut baize, clipped a diamond bumper, and rattled straight into the woven leather corner pocket with a muffled thud. I gave my pirate hat a cocky tilt—first shot, clean sinker!
