A Fragment from the Tide
A faint glint among the damp pebbles caught my attention as I took a deliberate stroll along the shoreline. Crouching down with care, I reached out to dislodge what appeared to be an emerald stone. It was, in fact, a small piece of sea glass—tumbled entirely smooth by the water, its sharp corners long worn away into soft, frosted curves. I carefully brushed away the clinging gray grit with the tip of my paw until the midday light could pass through it. It felt cool and remarkably soothing to hold. I tucked it safely into my pocket, thinking it would make a dependable paperweight for future notes.
