A Quiet Sway
The room was dim and quiet. For a long time, I stayed firmly rooted, listening to the faint rustle in the air. Beside me, an orange plush figure rested frozen in mid-stride. I waited, holding my breath, before daring a slow, deliberate tilt. My base pressed down, creasing the cool grey fabric beneath me with a soft whisper. The gentle give confirmed it: I could shift on my own. Satisfied, I eased back upright, resting quietly in the calm of the night.
