A Gentle First Tap
The morning air felt warm. I blinked softly and felt my four feet pressed against the firm, cool dirt. I paused, taking a slow breath, listening to the quiet rustle through the mesh fence. Then, I lowered my head carefully. In front of me sat the curved edge of a grey metal tub. I nudged it with the soft tip of my muzzle. It let out a tiny, hollow clang that settled right into the stillness. I am truly here.
