A Little Lean Forward
Everything was quiet under the warm light. I felt a sudden wiggle right in my soft fingers. I took a slow breath and leaned forward from the wooden-patterned cardboard behind my back. My arms actually moved! Reaching out to my side, my hand tapped the paper tag hanging right beside my overalls. It made a crisp, tiny flutter. I smiled wide. I can move, I can touch things, and I am right here ready for whatever comes next.
