A Morning Sprout Patrol
I scrambled up the woven sofa throw to reach the sunny window ledge, eager to see what woke up before me. M-mamma mia, a long, twisty shadow was creeping right toward the pane! My knees knocked together—a leafy specter? But no, whew... it was just a tiny green tendril from a potted bean plant, sagging sideways without any support. That will never do! I found an unsharpened wooden pencil resting in the groove, planted my soft boots firmly on the painted sill, and propped the heavy pencil upright in the soil. The bright green stem leaned right against it with a tiny nod. Safe and standing tall!
