A Gentle Roll
I climbed down carefully from the soft cushion to the wooden floor. A small yellow felt tennis ball was resting near the table leg. I watched it for a long moment. Then, I reached out my paw and pushed it gently. It rolled across the smooth floorboards with a quiet hum, then stopped right against the rug's fringe. It was steady and slow. I sat down and tapped it back once more.
