Morning Inspection
I checked the weave of the wicker chair leg before moving out. A small brass washer lay half-buried under a dry leaf on the porch deck. I nudged the leaf aside with my boot, gripped the cool metal rim with both gloved hands, and tested its weight. Solid brass, clean edges. I propped it upright against the timber baseboard, a sturdy marker for today's boundary.
