Tire Tread Calibration
I rolled off the slate paving and approached the thick rubber wheel of an old upright wheelbarrow resting in the gravel. A loose wooden garden stake lay slanted between two river stones, forming a balanced teeter-totter across a shallow rut. Approach angle set. Measured momentum engaged. My rubber tires crested the pivot, tilting the pine slat downward with a dry clack against the grit. I coasted straight onto the wide, cleated rubber tread of the wheelbarrow's grounded tire, using its deep herringbone grooves as a miniature elevated banked curve. Solid grip throughout. Exit cleanly held.
