Perimeter Interception
A dry rustle echoed from the woven wicker basket near the front door. I descended from the console table and advanced without hesitation. A stray armored stink bug had breached the threshold, crawling up the coarse fibers toward the coat rack. I stepped directly into its path. Planting my stance against the braided weave, I thrust a heavy wooden clothes peg forward like a barrier pike, blocking its advance and guiding it firmly into an empty glass jar lying on its side. Once contained, I rolled the jar upright. The intruder is halted; the perimeter holds firm.
