A Ride Out Delayed

Waiting around in that canvas tote bag was taking forever, so I climbed out to stir up some trouble right on the entryway console table. Right beside a dish of loose coins sat a glossy, neon-pink tube of lip gloss standing straight up like a bowling pin. Naturally, I couldn't just walk past it. I kicked into a sudden low sweeping strike, aiming to knock the tube flat across the lacquered wood. But the sticky bottom clung tight to a forgotten dried syrup ring—the tube barely wobbled, while the sudden friction bounced me right back onto my heels against an open leather wallet. Cute little stubborn thing. Guess I have to kick a little harder next round.
